11th June 2025 @ Woodchester Mansion
We’re holding the workshop at the amazing and unique Woodchester Mansion. Set in the beautiful and tranquil Woodchester Park, a few miles south of Stroud, the unfinished Mansion is an architectural masterpiece which offers visitors a special experience. Built in the mid-nineteenth century for the wealthy and devout William Leigh, the stone-built Gothic revival Mansion showcases high quality carving by local masons. As it was never finished visitors can see the bare bones of the building and understand how it was constructed.
The workshop will take place in one of the few completed rooms, the spacious lierne-vaulted drawing room. Be inspired by the numerous carvings and gargoyles in the Mansion, or the roof bosses in the chapel, or the plants and wildlife in the surrounding valley. Whatever your choice, Zoe’s expert guidance will enable you to produce something outstanding to take home to remember your day at this incredible house.
Willow sculpture workshops are wonderful for all ages and give you something beautiful to keep that will last for years. You can create an abstract sculpture, willow animal, garden ornament with guidance from your tutor Zoe. No experience is necessary, just come along and enjoy a creative day.
Workshop runs 10-4pm with the opportunity to look around this fantastic property. All materials provided with tea and coffee, please bring lunch and some sharp secateurs if you have some.
